To help manage your pain, your physician may prescribe a therapeutic joint injection.
Therapeutic joint injections are performed in a sterile setting. A local anesthetic is used to temporarily help with pain management and most times a steroid is also injected to help reduce the inflammation, or irritation of a nerve, tendon or ligament.
At Surrey MRI, our Radiologists use fluoroscopy as a guide to ensure accurate placement of the needle into the joint space of specific areas of the body. Therapeutic injection sites include knees, shoulders, hips, elbows and ankles.
Please do not hesitate to contact our office if you have any questions regarding Therapeutic Joint Injections.
